## **Intro**

### **Problem**

One of the main issues that Askyoyo aimed to solve was the challenge faced by hotels when trying to customize guests' stays based on their individual preferences and needs. The existing process often involved guests filling out lengthy forms or making multiple phone calls to the hotel, which was both time-consuming and frustrating.

### **Goal**

Hotels have always strived to provide the best possible experience for their guests. However, with the ever-increasing competition in the hospitality industry, it has become increasingly important to personalize and customize guests' stays according to their preferences and needs.

### **My Role**

During my time as a product designer, I handled various tasks, including product design, branding, and web design. I worked closely with the founder and the team of developers to ensure that our designs were in line with the company's overall vision and goals.

### **Methods**

To define the problem and the audience, we conducted user interviews and surveys to gather information about the needs and preferences. This allowed us to gain valuable insights into the user's behavior, and helped us to better understand their motivations and pain points. We also conducted market research to gain insights into the competition and overall market trends. This research allowed us to identify key gaps in the market, and helped us to develop a more comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape.

### **Insights**

During the course of our research, we conducted several interviews with both hotel staff and guests. Our goal was to gain a deeper understanding of the needs and preferences of our target audience. We began by asking about common requests or preferences guests have during their stay. This allowed us to identify areas where the hotel can improve, as well as identify trends in guest preferences that can be leveraged to enhance their experience. We conducted interviews with hotel staff and guests. Some of the questions we asked included:

* What are some of the most common requests or preferences that guests have during their stay?

* How do guests currently communicate their preferences and needs to hotel staff?

* Have you ever had any issues or challenges coordinating guest requests and responding to inquiries?

* What are some of the biggest pain points for guests during their stay?

* In your opinion, what could be done to improve the guest experience and satisfaction?

We also inquired about how guests currently communicate their preferences and needs to hotel staff. This helped us understand the communication channels that are most commonly used and whether there are any opportunities to streamline this process.

To better understand the challenges faced by hotel staff in fulfilling guest requests, we asked about any issues or challenges they may have experienced in the past. This allowed us to identify areas where better coordination could be implemented, ultimately leading to a better experience for guests.

Guests' biggest pain points during their stay were also explored. This helped us identify areas where the hotel may be falling short in meeting guests' expectations, and areas where improvements can be made to enhance the overall guest experience.

Some of the key insights we gained from our research included:

* Guests were frustrated with the current process of communicating their preferences and needs to hotel staff.

* Hotels were spending a lot of time and resources coordinating requests and responding to guest inquiries.

* There was a gap in the market for a more efficient and effective way for guests to communicate their preferences and needs to hotel staff.

* Hotels were interested in a platform that could help them better understand their guests' needs and preferences.

## **Design**

We created multiple versions of each design, sketch, or wireframe, in order to explore different possibilities and ensure that we were considering all possible perspectives. We took care to analyze each version in detail, identifying its strengths and weaknesses, and making adjustments as necessary. This process allowed us to produce a final design that was well-informed, thoroughly considered, and tailored to meet the specific needs of the project personas.

### **Branding**

The branding process for Askyoyo was intensive, as the team wanted to ensure that the brand would be recognizable and stand out in the market for guest experience technology. The team focused on creating a modern and sophisticated brand identity that would appeal to both hotels and guests. The final branding elements included the logo, color palette, typography, and graphic design elements such as icons and illustrations.

We selected a color palette that was modern and sophisticated, with shades of purple and main yellow color. Purple is often associated with trust and reliability, which we felt were important values to convey to both hotels and guests. The shades of purple and yellow also complemented the app's branding and visual identity.

### **AI Expert**

As an additional feature to the app, the team developed "AI Expert," an AI-powered recommendation engine that suggests personalized experiences and amenities based on each guest's preferences and needs. The AI Expert system works by analyzing data from previous stays and feedback from guests, which allows it to provide tailored recommendations that maximize guest satisfaction and engagement. For example, if a guest has a preference for a specific type of cuisine, AI Expert can recommend nearby restaurants that serve that cuisine. If a guest enjoys outdoor activities, the system can suggest local parks or trails for them to explore.

One aspect of the design process that I found particularly enjoyable was the branding and visual identity development for the app. This involved an exhaustive exploration of different color palettes, typography, and graphic design elements. I cherished the opportunity to work with the team in creating a brand that was not only modern and sophisticated, but also lively and full of energy. It was a truly rewarding experience to see the brand identity come together and to witness the profound impact it had on the app's overall aesthetic and user experience.

## **Results**

After launching Askyoyo as beta version, hotels saw an increase in guest satisfaction and engagement. Guests could easily communicate their preferences and need to hotel staff, and hotels could quickly and efficiently respond to these requests. This led to an overall improvement in the guest experience and positively impacted the hotel's reputation and bottom line.

In addition to improving the guest experience, Askyoyo also helped hotels to save time and resources. By streamlining the communication process between guests and staff, hotels were able to reduce the amount of time and effort spent on coordinating requests and responding to guest inquiries.

The founders of Blind Cupid were incredibly unhappy with the traditional dating app experience. They felt that the endless swiping and superficial matches were simply not enough. They believed that there had to be a better way to connect people who were truly belong with one another.

### **Goal**

We want to address the needs of a specific group of users who were fed up with the limitations of existing dating apps. These individuals were tired of endlessly swiping through superficial matches, and were looking for a solution that would streamline the process of finding meaningful connections.

### **My Role**

As a leading designer, I was responsible for various tasks such as UX/UI design, branding, and web design. I collaborated closely with the founder and team of developers to ensure that my ideas and design were aligned with the company's overall vision and goals.

We conducted both qualitative and quantitative research methods to ensure a holistic understanding of the issue at hand. In the qualitative research, we carried out surveys to understand the user's pain points and their experience with dating apps. We also analyzed industry trends and benchmarks to ensure that our product met the highest standards and delivered a unique value proposition to our users.

We conducted interviews with individuals to understand their needs and expectations from a dating app. Some of the questions we asked were:

* What are some of the challenges you face while using dating apps?

* What features do you think are missing in current dating apps?

* What are some must-have features in a dating app for you?

* What do you think is the biggest problem with current dating apps?

* What do you think would make a dating app stand out?

Our extensive research into the dating app industry revealed that users are seeking a deeper, more authentic connection with potential partners. They expressed dissatisfaction with the current superficial nature of most apps and are eager for a more meaningful experience.

Furthermore, our findings indicate that users expect a personalized approach to dating, with recommendations based on their unique personalities and values. In addition to this, our research also discovered that users are demanding a safe and inclusive environment in which to explore their romantic interests. Such an environment needs to be conducive to self-expression and be welcoming to people from all walks of life.

## **Design**

During the design process, we created different versions of the designs, sketches, and wireframes. We also tested wireframes, visual design, and created a prototype that we utilized for testing. Our insights from testing contributed to the final deliverables by allowing us to fine-tune the app's performance, fix any issues, and ensure that it met the needs and expectations of our target audience. We learned the importance of continuous feedback and testing throughout the design and development process and the value of creating a strong brand and marketing strategy to differentiate our product in a crowded market.

### **Branding**

For the Blind Cupid app, we selected a color palette that was warm and inviting, with shades of pink and red to convey a sense of love and connection. The color palette was carefully chosen to create a sense of warmth and comfort, while also conveying the app's core values and mission.

## **Intro**

### **Problem**

The main problem we were solving was how to differentiate Buzzer app from the current landscape of video-sharing and social networking apps. We wanted to offer users something unique and engaging, so we prioritized offering tools and incentives to inspire users to create and share high-quality content.

### **Goal**

The new solution would improve the lives of this group of users by offering a unique and engaging platform for creating and sharing high-quality content. With tools and incentives to inspire users to create their best work, the app would drive virality and engagement, while challenging games and competitions would encourage users to creatively push themselves.

### **My Role**

As the Product Designer for the Buzzer app, my role was to create a user-centered design that fulfilled the company's goals and objectives. I collaborated closely with the development team, as well as the marketing and analytics teams, to ensure that the design aligned with the product vision and the data available.

## **Research**

### **Methods**

To gain insight into the current video-sharing and social networking app landscape, we performed competitor analysis, user interviews, and surveys. From this research, we were able to identify market trends and social media patterns. It became clear that we could differentiate ourselves from competitors by offering a fresh, innovative experience. As a result, we analyzed these patterns and trends, in order to develop a better understanding of our target audience and their needs and preferences. Through our research, we were able to define our target audience in much greater detail, and create a product that was tailored to their specific needs.

### **Insights**

Our team conducted thorough research on the characteristics, interests, and behaviors of our target audience to identify the different demographic groups. Once these groups were identified, we analyzed their unique traits and preferences to tailor the app's design and features to their specific needs. By doing so, we were able to create a more personalized and engaging experience that resonated with our users on a deeper level.

We conducted user interviews to understand the needs and preferences of our target audience. Some of the questions we asked included:

* What do you look for in a video-sharing or social networking app?

* What are some of your favorite apps, and why do you like them?

* What are some areas where you feel current video-sharing or social networking apps could improve?

* What types of content do you like to create and share?

* How do you feel about challenges or competitions in social media apps?

We gained several valuable insights from our research. For example:

* Our research clearly showed that users highly value high-quality content. In fact, users are willing to spend the time and effort necessary to create it. This finding highlights the importance of creating tools and features that make it easy for users to create and share their best work.

* Our research also revealed that users enjoy challenges and competitions that allow them to showcase their creativity and skills. By providing opportunities for users to engage in these types of activities, we can keep them engaged and motivated to use our app.

* Our research also showed that users are looking for a unique and engaging experience that sets a social networking or video-sharing app apart from the competition. We need to make sure that our app offers something truly special and memorable to stand out in a crowded market.

### **Personas**

To better understand the target audience and their needs for the Buzzer app, we created several personas that represent different types of users who may interact with the app. These personas were developed based on insights gained from user interviews, surveys, and market research.

By creating these personas, we were able to gain a deeper understanding of the unique needs and preferences of different types of users, which informed our design decisions and helped us to create a platform that meets the needs of a diverse range of users.

## **Design**

During the design process, we made multiple versions of the designs, sketches, and wireframes, refining them thoughtfully based on user feedback. Our team worked tirelessly, engaging in multiple rounds of ideation, user testing, and iteration. We placed a great deal of emphasis on incorporating user feedback into our designs, recognizing that user-centered design is essential to creating a product that meets the needs of its users.

### **Branding**

The branding process involved several steps that aimed to create a visual identity that would represent the app's unique and engaging experience. The first step was to develop a logo that would capture the essence of the app and be easily recognizable. This required a lot of brainstorming and creativity, as the logo had to be both bold and dynamic.

Once the logo was finalized, the team moved on to selecting a color palette that would complement the logo and evoke the right emotions in users. A vibrant and lively color palette was chosen to match the playful and energetic nature of the app.

The final step was to develop a visual style that would bring together all the branding elements into a cohesive whole. The visual style had to be consistent across all platforms and convey the app's unique personality.

The final deliverables included a wide range of design elements and resources to ensure the successful launch of the product. This included user flows for mapping interactions, wireframes for visualizing the product's structure, prototypes for testing and iteration, UI design for a clean and intuitive interface, a design system for consistency, branding for a recognizable identity, and a style guide for font, color, and visual element use.

## **Results**

After publishing the Buzzer app, the company saw a significant increase in brand awareness and recognition. The app quickly gained a large user base, with many users creating and sharing videos on the platform. \

* Receiving positive reviews and ratings from users, which can help to increase trust and credibility for the app.

* Seeing an increase in user engagement and activity on the app, such as the number of videos created and shared, the frequency of app usage, and the amount of time spent on the app.

* Building a solid and dedicated community of users who regularly engage with the app and each other.

## **Key learnings**

During the project, we faced several challenges, including:

* Differentiating Buzzer from other video-sharing and social networking apps

* Ensuring that the app's design was both user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing

* Balancing the needs and preferences of different user personas in the design

If you struggle to finish your work, it might be time to focus on monotasking instead. This can help to improve productivity and reduce stress levels. Studies have also shown that monotasking can lead to increased creativity and innovation.

## **The dangers of multitasking**

Multitasking can be a natural productivity killer. So if you want to be more productive, focus on one thing at a time; you'll get the job done faster and with fewer errors.

Multitasking may be pretty dangerous to folks who generally tend to fear a lot. Multitasking also can take a toll in your intellectual health, main to emotions of hysteria and stress. Finally, by monotasking, we are also reducing stress levels in our lives since multitaskers tend to have higher cortisol levels in their bloodstream than those who primarily focus on one task at a time. Reduced stress level leads to improved mental health and general well-being!

## **Intro**

### **Problem**

The Pludo team faced a challenge in understanding the needs and preferences of their target audience in order to develop a product that would meet their needs and provide a unique and engaging experience.

### **Goal**

The app was created with the goal of promoting interaction between users and experts or influencers. It does this by providing a platform for users to ask questions or seek advice. The app was designed with a focus on the user experience, meaning that all aspects of its design were carefully considered to ensure that users engage with it optimally through multiple channels of communications.

### **My Role**

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work as a leading product designer in a small team, where I was able to hone my skills in product design, branding, and web design. During this time, I was able to collaborate with a talented group of individuals. Together we gained a deeper understanding of the design process and how each element contributes to the overall success of a project.

## **Research**

### **Methods**

We conducted user interviews and surveys to understand the target audience and their needs. This helped us gain insights into their preferences, motivations, and pain points, which were crucial for developing a solution that would meet their needs. During the interviews, we asked a variety of questions to get a better understanding of their experiences with seeking advice or guidance from experts in their industry. We also inquired about any challenges they faced in doing so, to identify common obstacles that could be addressed. Also, we try to research all market and potential competitor analysis's to learn more about best ways to provide seamless experience for users.

### **Insights**

The data includes information on demographics, beliefs, and background. The target audience is diverse, ranging from Millennials to Gen Z, all of whom share a common interest in self-improvement, learning new skills, and achieving work-life balance. The audience's educational background varies, with the majority having at least a bachelor's degree or higher. The target audience consists of freelancers, small business owners, students, with a strong interest in entrepreneurship, innovation, and giving back to the community.

According to recent data, TikTok has seen the highest year-over-year growth in monthly active users, at 50%. Instagram and Facebook have also seen significant growth, with 25% and 7% YoY growth respectively. WhatsApp and YouTube have seen 15% YoY growth, while Snapchat has seen 22% and Twitter has seen 10%. LinkedIn has seen a 20% YoY growth in monthly active users. These trends suggest that social media apps remain popular and continue to attract new users.

We conducted both in-person and remote interviews. Some of the questions we asked include:

* What features or functionalities would be most helpful in an app that connects users with experts and influencers?

During the research phase of our project, we conducted interviews with individuals who were both on-site and remote, depending on their location and availability. Through these interviews, we discovered that there were many people who had questions and needed guidance from experts in their industry, but found it difficult to locate opportunities to make those connections. It became clear to us that there was a need for a platform that was simple and intuitive to use, with a wide range of experts and influencers to choose from.

Key data points from research and interviews

* Approximately 80% of participants stated that they had sought advice or guidance from an expert or influencer in their industry.

* Over 50% of participants reported that they had difficulty finding opportunities to connect with experts or influencers.

* The top features that participants identified as most important in an app that connects users with experts and influencers were the ability to send questions or requests for advice directly to experts and the ability to schedule consultations or connect with experts in real-time.

## **Define**

### **Personas**

In order to better comprehend the target audience and their requirements for the Pludo app, we devised various personas that embody distinct types of users who may engage with the app. These personas were established using knowledge accumulated from user interviews, surveys, and market research.

Each persona offers a comprehensive depiction of the user's background, objectives, pain points, motivations, personality, and a quote that encapsulates their viewpoint. By formulating these personas, we were able to attain a more profound understanding of the unique needs and preferences of a diverse range of users, which in turn informed our design decisions and enabled us to create a platform that caters to a broad spectrum of users.

## **Design**

The team took an iterative approach to design, testing and changing based on feedback, and insights from testing contributed to the final deliverables by informing changes to the user interface and functionality. During the test phase, user testing was conducted on wireframes and visual designs. A prototype was created and utilized for testing. ### **Branding**

During the branding process, the team carefully considered various design elements before finalizing on the most effective ones. Apart from the logo, the team also agreed on incorporating branded elements such as icons and typography to enhance the overall visual appeal of the brand. The color palette selected was a combination of blue and white hues, which were specifically chosen due to their ability to evoke trust, growth, and innovation. This would not only resonate well with the target audience but would also differentiate the brand from its competitors.

### **Design system**

We created a design system to maintain a consistent visual brand across all aspects of the app. This system included wireframes, UI designs, and graphic design elements like icons, illustrations, and other visual assets aligned with the app's unique and exciting experience. Our goal was to create a final product that was both visually appealing and highly functional, tailored to the needs and preferences of the app's target audience.
